This year’s Penny Arcade Expo, the fourth annual gathering of the Penny Arcade community, was by far the largest and most exciting yet, with nearly 40,000 attendees and a live recording of the premiere video game podcast, 1UP Yours. Building off all of this hype, the PAX team announced the dates for Penny Arcade 2008 today.
Next year’s festivities will happen just a teensy bit later than they did this year: August 29 through August 31. As in 2007, the Penny Arcade Expo 2008 is expected to take place in Seattle, Washington, presumably at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center once again. Tons of playable games, panels, and other events are planned. Could a second 1UP Yours live recording be in order? Probably!
In their press release, the PAX planners mentioned that the attendance to the event has doubled every year so far. In their words, “Attendance for the 2008 event is expected to reach forty-seven million bajillion people.”
